Zinnia
About the Zinnia
Named after German botanist Johann Gottfried Zinn. They are among the most popular and easiest annuals to grow. Over 20 species with hundreds of cultivars. They attract butterflies in large numbers. They were the first flower grown in space - aboard the International Space Station in 2016. The Aztecs called them plants that are hard on the eyes for their bright colors. They produce more blooms the more they are cut, making them ideal for cut flower gardens. They are heat and drought tolerant. They are deer resistant.
