About the Gerbera
Also called the Transvaal daisy, Gerbera jamesonii was described from near Barberton in South Africa. Named after the German botanist Traugott Gerber. Each flower head is made of hundreds of tiny florets. It is one of the most popular cut flowers in the world. The NASA Clean Air Study listed it among houseplants that remove indoor air pollutants. Breeders have produced a huge range of cultivars.
