About the Foxglove (Pamela)
A beautiful apricot-pink variety of the classic cottage garden foxglove. Unlike the common purple form, Pamela produces warm pastel spikes that glow in evening light. It is a source of digitalis for heart medication. It is biennial - forming a rosette year one, flowering year two, then setting seed and dying. It self-seeds prolifically, maintaining colonies. All parts are toxic. It grows 90-120 cm tall. It attracts bees which climb deep into the spotted throats. It prefers partial shade and moist soil.
