Honeysuckle
About the Honeysuckle
A genus of climbing and shrubby plants with around 180 species, named Lonicera. Its tubular flowers are rich in nectar and most fragrant in the evening, attracting moths. Children suck the sweet nectar from the flowers, which gave the plant its name. Japanese honeysuckle is a serious invasive species in North America. The berries of many species are mildly toxic. It has long been linked with love in English poetry and folklore.
